i'd tell them that i don't know anything about writing C++ compilers. :) i don't like MS, and i think i could stand by that feeling, regardless of the job offer. -c

Ohh come on mate, you're not Luke SkyWalker are you   What if they offered you the chance to lead a team of developers doing whatever it is that you want to do. Would you still resist? ;) May the Source be with you Sonork ID 100.9997 sijinjoseph

There are some really rabid anti-MS people out there. I also have the impression that a sizeable number of programmers dont like Microsoft. I'm willing to bet my last dollar that all of them would jump at the chance to work for BillG if given the chance. I love using Linux and very much prefer Opengl over DirectX any day (for my game) but if BillG came aknockin' boy would I jump! I'd still prefer Linux, etc but it would be fun to see people's faces when I tell them I work for the Evil Empire. Plus, working for MS you recieve emails from Him and get access to a bunch of cool(:~ Win98?) source code! bibamus, edamus, cras moriemur

Yeah, if the job was right. I spoke to one of their recruiters about working on the COM+ team a couple of years ago. That would have been cool. Len Holgate www.jetbyte.com The right code, right now.

I suppose the flipside is what would you do if your company was taken over by MS (assuming that you had no option but to accept the takeover) -- Help me! I'm turning into a grapefruit!

if MS wants to buy my business, then i'd gladly sell. but, the current staff (me) would only stay on as long as is necessary to transfer the technology. if MS bought my company, i'd take the cash and start a record store. -c

What are we talking? Making cups of coffee? Cleaning the toilets? Developing software? Microsoft looks like a really fun place to work, but they have a reputation for giving employees bad hours and holidays. I'd do it just to say I worked for Microsoft. Sure, they have done some bad things to get ahead of the competition, but that's business for you. :)

Actually, i think i would be too terrified to take up a jab at MS. With all those super geeks, i don't think it would be good for my selfy-esteem.
