You would be, wouldn't you? But then, I think we all understand where you're coming from.

I'm not, personally; if I choose not to read or respond to a troll, I would prefer it to be my choice and not the choice of others (certainly not the choice of a small number of others) Sure - if the post breached guidelines (apparently, for example, using the word 'test*cle' in the lounge is frowned upon) then removal is fine and dandy. But allowing a small number of people to make the decision that a post (esp. in the Soapbox) is simply not to be read by me is just censorship. What's actually WRONG with a troll that annoys you folk so much? There's been many a witty (and abusive) comments left by responders to Illion (sp?) et al. Maybe an option could be added to the user options to allow each user to set up a list of 'ignore users' - so if you don't want to read posts by someone, just add 'em to the list without forcing your preferences on other users.

What's wrong is that the so-called troll is not a troll. It's very infuriating to those who cannot abide rational criticism of their cherished (and erroneous) beliefs.

And yet, I am the "troll." Amusing, isn't it? Almost as amusing as Fearless Leader's "even-handedness."

I'm not convinced it takes 13. I'm guessing the poster who said it was based it on a post having 12 1's and then he voted to remove and it went away. But both 1 and remove votes score as 1 so there weren't necessarily 12 prior remove votes.

Pshaw![^] It's *always* you "community" types who do that, and then whine (and, of course, lie) when you get it served back to you. You "community" fellows are bullies *and* sissies. And it's just so unfair, isn't it, that I'm neither impressed nor intimidated.

They have that option, already, in two forms: 1) self-control [some maturity required] 2) some script written by one of "the comminity" to filter out any post made by posters they think beneith their exalted dignity [has the unfortunate side effect of allowing others to still read the posts if they wish]

I think that may have changed. I suspect the votes may be weighted now so that Golds and Platinums can shut the door on him more quickly. At any rate, there have been times when I have been 6th or 7th in and his message was grayed when I refreshed the page.
