From the article: "Famed for his long, twirling moustache, Veerappan has eluded the law for more than 30 years and is accused of the murder of at least 120 policemen." I can't imagine how the guy has managed to pull it off for so long. Is it due to the police not wanting to get hold of him, or are they just plain incompetent? Or does he have the support of political groups who have their own vested interests in his operations? What we need is a military operation and kill the bastard. Plain and simple. Our police is not just good enough. Things like this is what makes people lose their confidence in the police and the government in general.

I wish all our criminals had long twirly mustaches like they did in the past. They'd be so much easier to identify. "What? You're trying to lure me into a dark alley? Okay. Waaaaait a minute, you have a long twirly mustache. I'm not falling for this!" Criminal: "Curses! Foiled again! Where can I find a damsel to tie up to some railroad tracks?" ------------------------------------------ When I was a kid, I used to pray every night for a new bicycle. Then I realized that the Lord, in his wisdom, didn't work that way. So I just stole one and asked him to forgive me. - Emo Phillips

You are the intrepid one, always willing to leap into the fray! A serious character flaw, I might add, but entertaining. Said by Roger Wright about me.

Colin^Davies wrote: Maybe he shares some of his spoils with the Police ? Very likely. But I suppose he also gets the support of the locals, who regard him as somewhat of a Robin Hood, as mentioned in the article. But then again, this might only be an excuse for the incompetent and corrupt Police, if indeed they are incompetent and/or corrupt.
