      If you have .net, you have all you need. The framework includes CSC, the command-line compiler for C#. I suggest you open a DOS box, write a "hello world" console app, and compile it.

        You could download Visual C# Express[^], a nice notepad for writing code. It colors your code while you type, underlines mistakes and it suggests keywords. For a non-Microsoft product, I'd recommend SharpDevelop 3.0[^]. It does all the things that a you expect from a decent IDE, and it can run from USB-stick :cool: Enjoy :)
