and what we should do to comfort us? Recently i feel very sad and sometime even think life is meaningless(don't take me wrong,I will not commit suicide,I think that is silly doing). I want some consulting from kind you. this is my signature for forums quoted from shog*9: I can't help but feel, somewhere deep within that withered, bitter, scheming person, there is a small child, frightened, looking a way out.

Too bad i couldn't offer much cos i sometimes also feel the same as you do, especially when i am out of job now... Perhaps the world might be a better place if humans do not have hatred, sorrow, and those negative emotions which in my opinion, cause a lot of suffering... (and not forgetting money, i think it is one of the roots of evil) Weiye, Chen When pursuing your dreams, don't forget to enjoy your life...

Sorry you are feeling bad. Life is not fair, we just have to get used to it. It helps to think about those people who are in much worse situation than ourselves. Also, those rich and famous do have their own problems ...

I reflect on life all the time, sometimes it just drives me crazy. Fundementally life is meaningless, once you accept that you can just get on and enjoy it. Life is too short to dwell on the past or on the what could have been. Just go out and be the best person you can be. Find a little fun in everything you do. Just remember that sooner or later we all end up the same way - worm food. :-D Michael Programming is great. First they pay you to introduce bugs into software. Then they pay you to remove them again.

Life has moments like that. Especially when the only life you are touching is your own. But life takes on a different, more rich perspective when you involve yourself in your community, and see the very real effects that your efforts have on other lives. The greatest moments of my life are those when I see a child laugh, because I was funny; when an elderly person shakes my hand and thanks me for the gift of a visit at Christmastime; when I visit a school, as I did this morning, to talk about the great value of learning, and half the kids in class recognize me and call me by name because some event I helped put on affected their lives in a positive way. I know that my life isn't meaningless, when old friends from far away still contact me after ten years' absence to chat and ask my advice; when a letter arrives from a woman who rejected me twenty years ago asking me to reconsider her as a wife, after paying a private investigator for two years to locate me. I know that my existence has meaning, when friends ask me to run for public office, because they don't trust anyone else to safegaurd their interests; when they ask me to spend time with their children, because they want them to learn from me, and trust me to instruct their bairn. Life without these things could, indeed, feel meaningless. But by involving myself in the lives of others and giving their challenges as much attention as those I face, I have garnered these and many more affirmations of the value of the life I live. Take heart, Zhoujun, and step outside of yourself a bit and into the lives of others - give, and you shall receive, as it says in our bible. It's true, and it requires no committment to any religious philosophy to make it work. In the words of Tom Lehrer, a satirical songwriter who nonetheless manages to strike a chord of truth now and then, "Life is like a sewer - what you get out of it depends upon what you put into it."

We have to feel fear, anger, sorrow. They are part of what makes us human, what seperates us from the rest of the animals. As with all things in nature, you need to have the right balance of postitive and negative emotions. If you can find that balance then you and the people around you will enjoy life more. Some on very wise told me that one should never allow one's mind to wander off into sad thoughts. That both sad and happy thoughts are but thoughts. He told me that in order to be happy, humans need to set and fullfill goals. If one feels sad one should focus all ones attention on what one wants to achieve and let the yearning for it pull one forward. Vision is only attainable by a deep desire to succeed. This desire burns away all obstacles, fears and self doubt. Disciplines brings vision, vision gives knowledge. Knowledge creates the experience needed to work with one's inner self, applying the five principles (Honesty, Modesty, Humbleness, Patience and Tranquility.), struggling to maintain them. Also I find watching a movie or reading the autobiography of a great prson usually helps too. The aging process accelerates when the soul begins to wrinkle as we give up hope and enthusiasm. Storms in the brain ruin relaxation...

Someone just send me this Email. Thought I would pass it on. An old Cherokee is teaching his grandson about life. "A fight is going on inside me," he said to the boy. "It is a terrible fight and it is between two wolves. One is evil - he is anger, envy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, and ego. The other is good - he is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion, and faith. This same fight is going on inside you - and inside every other person, too." The grandson thought about it for a minute and then asked his grandfather, "Which wolf will win?" The old Cherokee simply replied, "The one you feed." -author unknown Man follows the way of earth. Earth follows the way of heaven. Heaven follows the way of Tao. Tao follows what is natural.

Thanks,Chen. If I can select,I think i will hope humans do not have "sorrow",because it is the strongest feeling that can not be got rid of. this is my signature for forums quoted from shog*9: I can't help but feel, somewhere deep within that withered, bitter, scheming person, there is a small child, frightened, looking a way out.
