The halting problem will be solved soon[^]! :-D Now we know that a computer can solve any problem!

Of all forms of sexual aberration, the most unnatural is abstinence.

 Wow, what a wasteland. Except for this savvy bidder:

I will be able to deliver a program to satisfy this requirement. It will require the creation of a second program to monitor the first to ensure that the first program halts. Likewise, the second program will require the creation of a third program to ensure that the second one halts. And so on. Each program subsequent to the first one must be developed as a separate project.

Sure, it doesn't exactly satisfy the requirements. But if he wins, he'll have a job for life...

this reminds me of a song by Quantic - "Infinite Regression". So a programmer developes a program that would develope a program. He notices something is missing, so he creates another program to create a program to create a program, that would create a program.. But still something is missing.

///////////////// Groucho Marx Those are my principals, if you don't like them… I have others.

I like how the "specifications" are so nebulas...does that mean the checking program must support an "infinate" number of source languages? (C, C++, C#, PHP, Java, JavaScript/AJAX/Ruby, F#...), is it suppose to be a source code checker or perhaps they meant a program that monitors a running program looking for a lockup  I  at the responder who said he would supply the solution in 6502 Assembly...
