:omg: :wtf: bing.com is blocked here at work. Oh well, it would take something extremely special to replace google for me anyway.

It looks like it works pretty well, but I can't stand the name. The Friends episode where they kept on saying one of the character last name just get stuck in my head. Bing... Bing.... Bing.... Bing. Ahhh ahhh.. I will stick with google, unless they change the name.

It allows you to search Google: http://www.bing.com/search?q=google&go=&form=QBRE[^]. Fair play :)

Results appear to be heavily skewed towards recently-updated pages vs. the heavily-linked pages that Google promotes. Which could be good, if it reduces the value of link-spam... But i'd have to hope there's something else going on, or it would merely encourage revision-spam. Appears to work well so far for looking up APIs on MSDN... If they Do The Right Thing and use it for F1 help in VS2010, then i'll be happy with it.

"Bing" always reminds my of the seen in movie "Ground Hogs Day" where a person called "Ned" who is a person from Bill Murray's chartacter. He made the word "Bing" a very annoying word :)

So far as I can tell it's just like Google except when it doesn't work as well. The way the image search results are displayed is clunky (and didn't work at all the first time I tried it). I can't see that it does anything that would make me want to switch from Google.

Hmm.. Have you tried it on a few different keywords? The reason I say this is that there is a lot of differences in appearance and returned information. For example, you search for Bill Murray: http://www.bing.com/search?q=bill+murray&form=QBRE[^] On the left side it has popular keywords "Imagies, Movies, Fan Club, etc" which the results is grouped by, fir a selection of images, a few web search results and then "Bill Murray Movies", then a few links down "Bill Murrary Fan Club" and then a few links down.. and so on down the list fallowed by a "search popularity for Bill Murray" graph and top celebs list. A search for General Motors: http://www.bing.com/search?q=general+motors&form=QBRE[^] On the left hand side you have it grouped by "Cars, recalls, used, sale, dealers, news" and the results fallows. The first link is the corporate web site including a box to search just the GM.com site if you wish. Search for Frog: http://www.bing.com/search?omc=1&sig=0&q=frog&FORM=Z9FD2[^] Left side grouped by "Images, Types, Facts, Care, Sale, Toys, Videos". How about a keyword search for ASP.NET: http://www.bing.com/search?q=asp.net&form=QBRE[^] It is grouped by "Overview, Community, Downloads, Development". Under that you have releated searches. This grouping feature is pretty cool. When you click on group item or "see more results" within a group, it keeps this list of groups so that you can see the full search results for each group and bounce between them. In addition this layout you have the Search History which is kind of handy when you are trying a bunch of keywords. Then of course
