It's raining and thundering pretty good where I live this morning. So, my son said "Oh it's thundering! I am going to hide in a Faraday Cage! Dad, can you help me build a Faraday Cage?"

:omg: You have a very intelligent three year old. At that age, I was still using colouring books, while he's applying year 12 physics

Frighteningly smart kid. Has the warranty run out? Maybe you can trade him in on a couple of ones that won't end up showing you up by the time they're ten. . .

I hope so. I am a Physicist by education and I try to teach him everything I can when he asks me about the hows and whys. It has helped me a lot as a teacher at the local jc where I teach occasionally (ie there are enough students)

I really hope he does. At least he will give me some motivation to finally finish the PhD.

Quit trying to show off. You can tell a three year old what a Faraday Cage is and he will remember it for the rest of his life, but he doesn't understand how it works.

That's a bit harsh! I'm sure your son could handle the basics.

Why? That's ridiculous - if I was struggling with any of my subjects, I'd do research and talk to my teachers, not pay somebody else to do it for me
