The difference you are talking about is that in your society, the only ones with guns are criminals who are far more likely to shoot any cop who stops them for speeding than a good friend of mine: grandmother, runs an animal sanctuary, and is licensed to carry concealed weapons. If most cops thinks that someone he's approaching is armed and dangerous, they don't reach for a taser, but a 9 shot of some sort. Those that do think a taser is the right choice are self-eliminating, which is good for the rest of the cops.

We're not debtating that. We're debating whether a cop would be dumb enough to taser someone they thought might be armed and dangerous. You claim they would be. I say otherwise. Not across the board, by the way, only in the states with a high illegal immigrant population. North Dakota, for instance, is probably a helluvalot safer than much of Oz.

Well, that could be true. I mean, our cops don't have to carry stuff like that, so I'm actually unsure of the degree to which it incapacitates someone. Either way, at the core, the guy was being a dick. You don't be a dick to a man with a taser.

I read a book called 'outliers' recently that suggested the south of the US was safer than the north, unless you actually cross someone. That is, random crime happens in the north, revenge crime in the south. I guess what I'm saying is, the statistics get interpreted different ways by different people. Is it the immigrants killing each other ( or doing the killing at all ? ). What is the cause and what is the effect ? What can be done, when so much of the US service economy is based on taking advantage of illegals ? That's why your government doesn't just send them back. Hell, in Texas, the government builds places for them to congregate and look for work.
