Hi Team, I'm a software developer and, I want to make my hosting server database as my local server database for testing purpose. But my problem is that, I'v downloaded the sql2005 ssmsee from msdn subscription and installed it in my Vista Home Premium. The thing is that after installation the Import and Export Options are missing. So I can't able to Import and Export the database. So, please anybody help me to make the hosting server database as my local database. Thanks in Adavance... Thanks and Regards, Rama Krishna Panda, S.E.(.Net Tech.) Ergode.com,Mumbai.

I'm pretty sure there is no option to Import a database. I use the developer version and I am able to restore a backed up database OR attach an MDF and LDF files. I can uses import of a table but there is not import database option.

Never underestimate the power of human stupidity RAH

first you get the database backup from your hosting server, then create a new database in your local server(database name may be same) and restore the backup database to your local server. There is option for Backup & Restore options in Express edition In Sql Server 2005 Express Edition - there is no Import & Export options, if you need this option you should by the standard edition or professional edtion etc,,,
