New Computer

I am in the process of building a new computer, as funds are available. So far I have a new ASUS MB that supports up to PC2700 DDR ram, I am waiting for a Athlon XP 2200+ and I have a Radeon 7200 Pro (Got it for Free!) and Seagate 80 GB Barracuda. A processor that won't start a fire if your fan stops ? A 21" flat screen. A gig of RAM. A DVD burner. Hell, TWO DVD burners. Or did you mean brands of TV cards ? Actually the processor I am waiting for is based on a new core that runs significantly cooler than all other processors in its class. I was planning on a cheapo ATI TV Tuner, right now a I have a guy across the hall that is streaming TV over the schools network, he said he would give it to me when I finish it. Volcano 9 processor fan. They were only $28 dollars on newegg.com and is rated by AMD to keep a 2600+ (unfortunately not released yet) cool. My brother bought one and it is like a case fan on top of a giant heat sink. It is very noisy at its fastest rpm but isn't too bad at about 5000. Anyway, just a suggestion. My new 19" flat screen cost me £200 ($300) including VAT and next morning delivery, though the only reason I didn't opt for 21" was because they weren't available in flat screen in the range. If you can find an ATI All-In-Wonder 128 I'd recommend that as the TV/vid capture card to get. I got one a few years ago and it still rocks. They're tough to find now though as ATI has moved to Radeon all-in-wonders which are pretty expensive. Josh Knox
