It's not really mathematically the same experiment because I imagine people viewing the thread are more likely to respond if they see their birthday already. You have to model all the people who viewed the thread, but did not reply because they weren't interested enough, but would have replied if they had a matching birthday because it feels like winning a prize. Anyway, I don't think my birthday matches, but here it is since ideally anyone viewing the thread ought to be compelled to state a birthday: Sep 23 Next time, write a webpage that requires people to enter a birthday to view the list of birthdays. And if two people pick Jan 1, it doesn't count because they were more likely to have just been lazy.
