                  I didn't know the word myself. I worked out parts of it from the clue, then cheated using wiktionary index. :-O

                              There are now more than 1,000,000 words in English, so there a few to choose from. I first heard the word when I was about 11 years old, it was the religious overseer at a wedding between Count Grendell and Princess Strella in 'The Androids of Tara' (Which was based on Anthony Hope's The Prisoner of Zenda)
