It goes beyond just that. Sometime between when our grandparents were young and now people decided that scrubbing down the entire house with bleach when/after someone got sick was too much work. Clenching is a more accurate term for what I do with my brain. It literally clenches like a muscle, atleast that is what it feels like. It is accompanied by intense thoughts of mechanics and things of that nature.
