Anyone having trouble with Yahoo email? [modified]
-
I can't log in to my email from the web login. I've tried both my logins - my guess is that they're having a major outage of some kind. Is anyone else having issues? EDIT: They're back to normal.

See, I figured I'd refrain from saying that until AFTER someone said something more helpful.

This is the first problem I've had with Y! I mainly use gmail, but to be honest I think prefer certain elements of Y! mail; preview pane & tabs at the top mainly. Gmail's ads are less obtrusive visually, but feel a bit invasive when they're directly related to your emails! :~

That's weird, because I've used my yahoo mail for years and find it very good. - a big inbox - it's fast - it is up an running at all times (read, hotmail is out more then yahoo is) - they continuously try to improve - rarely an error message I'm curious what bothers you. (but please don't start and endless rant ;) )

Very true indeed, but I never said gmail was better or worse :-D

Well, i'll try... ;) I used Y! Mail regularly for a good 6 years... The problems started with spam. I got a lot of it, and flagging it didn't seem to help. Then other services introduced POP and later IMAP access, while Y! kept this tied to its premium service. Then I realized how much faster and more accurate searching was in GMail, and that kinda put the nail in the Y! coffin for me; when you're looking at sorting through hundreds of emails after a vacation, being able to quickly search and sort them by sender or subject makes a huge difference, and Y! would frequently fail to find messages by either - even when they were on the first page of the Inbox! On top of that... The new UI, fancy though it is, ends up just duplicating things I already have: what use are in-page tabs, when i use a tabbed browser? And being able to scroll through 1000 messages is nice, but it'd be nicer if i could reliably find the one message i'm after without having to scroll! These things end up just slowing me down...

Mmm, I can agree on the searching part, that's terrible, as is sorting.
