After reading several web pages going on about how OneNote 2007 works great with Outlook 2003 I go ahead and install it. My reasons for wanting OneNote 2007 are that my new mobile has OneNote Mobile on it but no notes synchronization with Outlook. I really don't want to upgrade the rest of Office and not be able to find anything, etc. OneNote itself seems to be working fine but now every time I open Outlook I get that blasted Windows Installer come up in an infinite loop saying it's configuring Office 2007. Tried leaving it for half an hour but it just loops over and over (something I've also seen happen with windows installer in many other MS software across lots of different computers). I have to click cancel on it about 10 times before I can check my email and it does it every time. Thanks MS. Oh and I've looked under add-ins and COM add-ins within Outlook and nothing to do with OneNote is even listed (according to MS it should be) despite the fact that there are now OneNote buttons all over Outlook.

Personally I hate it every time I have to regress to Office 2003 (some computers at work, etc.), but I'm with you on the whole having to search for common functions bit. It didn't take that long to get used to though, and once used to the "new way" the "old way" is preposterously tedious. //L
