10 Years Old Today! Woohoo! 10 year ago Dave and I had just bought a smokin' dual-proc 350MHz machine with a whole GB of RAM and the first pages went up. It was my second visit to Toronto and I experienced my first snowday, my first deep-fried cheesestick, and a renewed aquaintance for Sleemans Honey Brown Lager. Our office was in the basement of a restaurant and in the mornings, sometimes, you couldn't concentrate for the sounds of the veal being pummeled into submission. My previous web experience was HTML and CGI and this whole new-fangled ASP thing seemed a little crazy, but I figured I'd give it a go. A pity no one mentioned to me that I'd soon count VBScript as my primary programming language for the next 4 years. Two days later I flew back home to Australia. Me, my 128Mb MP3 player, "ASP 3.0 for Beginners" and 14hrs of time to ask myself "what have I done??" We grew, and grew, and had growing pains, and bought more servers, gained more growing pains, and continued to grow, and 10 years later - a time when fairness would dictate we should be able to kick back a little - we're working harder, longer, and have yet to reach a point where we can even imagine "being finished". And we're still loving what we do, and I could probably speak for all of us when I say we love it more now than when it was still fresh and new. Happy birthday 'n all that. I've not got anything to say that others haven't already, but just to add my thanks for a great site, and great community. For me it is the community at Codeproject that has made it. Even though I'm busier these days and don't post at CP as much as I used to, I still find my self seeing things out in the real world and thinking "the guys in the Lounge would like that". And I can't even say how many times I've solved problems thanks to some of the great articles here. My search queries at Google frequently start "site:codeproject.com" Congratulations to everyone involved.

10 Years Old Today! Woohoo! 10 year ago Dave and I had just bought a smokin' dual-proc 350MHz machine with a whole GB of RAM and the first pages went up. It was my second visit to Toronto and I experienced my first snowday, my first deep-fried cheesestick, and a renewed aquaintance for Sleemans Honey Brown Lager. Our office was in the basement of a restaurant and in the mornings, sometimes, you couldn't concentrate for the sounds of the veal being pummeled into submission. My previous web experience was HTML and CGI and this whole new-fangled ASP thing seemed a little crazy, but I figured I'd give it a go. A pity no one mentioned to me that I'd soon count VBScript as my primary programming language for the next 4 years. Two days later I flew back home to Australia. Me, my 128Mb MP3 player, "ASP 3.0 for Beginners" and 14hrs of time to ask myself "what have I done??" We grew, and grew, and had growing pains, and bought more servers, gained more growing pains, and continued to grow, and 10 years later - a time when fairness would dictate we should be able to kick back a little - we're working harder, longer, and have yet to reach a point where we can even imagine "being finished". And we're still loving what we do, and I could probably speak for all of us when I say we love it more now than when it was still fresh and new. So a huge thanks to all those who have helped us along the road. From the article machines to those who live in the forums, all the way to the casual visitor who, 5 years ago, may have taken the effort just to drop us an email to say thanks. It all helps, every little bit. Here's to another 10 years :beer:
