1. Got this when tried to share my Microsoft Windows Live SkyDrive Photos folder with a contact by providing an email address. It tried to send an email and failed. # We can't show you that page Our server is having a problem. We're working to fix it as soon as we can, so try again in a few minutes. # 2. Another one with Microsoft Windows Live Mail, tried to import a csv contact file and was said there were some technical issues; which is accidentally happening for about couple of months. :omg: Any ways out? :~

That will not help him, he is complaining about applications which are on "The Cloud". He needs to fall down from The Cloud.

Aren't the bugs he's reporting related to server-side software? How will changing client hardware help?

Office Live Workspace also sux...created a space and tried to share with colleagues, no worky...you'd think they'd test this crap before they unleash it on the world. You'd also think a person could share a link with themselves using an alternate email for testing (so they don't embarrass themselves for even mentioning Office Live Workspaces) and it'd be smart enough to figure that out, but no..."this computer is already blash blash blash"

I know, it's just that I ALWAYS say that. That, and, a Mac user is less likely to use Microsoft websites when better alternatives exist.

Yes, but, if he bought a Mac, it would be a sign that it's possible that something that's not Wintel is actually as good or even (gasp) better. Then he'd use gmail, etc, and his life would get better. The cloud is still dumb tho.

It's not just Microsoft. For example, Facebook, one of the biggest traffic sites on the net seems to be crashing often in one form or another. Myspace has had its (and a lot more on top) fair share of growing pains. Many top sites seem to blow at times with some much more frequently than others. Even the might Google poops out at times and some of their designs and stupid. Gmail for example has a hard time keeping track of multiple accounts and keeping the threading of messages in order. When I tried it this last spring, I found it was by design. All I wanted is a box for each email account so that it would keep them together. Of course, that was not a bug, they wanted to keep stuff mixed up. I do agree though that it seems lately there is more and more faults happening on these sites. Maybe they are cutting back on testing to make sure they get something out there. Can be a negative thing though if they are not careful.

What could be the alternative to SkyDirve's 25GB free online space?

Live Mesh. It's only 5GB, and it's still Microsoft but works flawlessly and beautifully. Never got to make skydrive work.
