Good:) So you went with the suggestion offered long time back. The machine will give the highest possible Windows Experience Index. Make sure that you reformat and get rid of the HP crap.

Oh yeah, I always reformat the hard drive on a new PC. It is incredible how much junk they put on a PC.

I would second that as HP has way too much junk installed.

Well I have been working on this dual core laptop and it is so slow. I just set up a Virtual PC with win 7 to install VS 2010 to play with in my free time and the VPC is so slow it is almost unusable.

Too bad they don't even provide the specs of the hard drive (which is the most important part of the PC).

Jealous! Especially the 9GB RAM. :omg: I recently got a new computer that came with 1GB. I had to tell them that wasn't enough and to install an extra GB.

Nope. You'd need an SSD to max out the HD rating at a minimum. IIRC a single 260 falls short of max on the GPU test as well.

Don't think I trust their quality control.

                                  Website:

RAIDDrive SSDs supports 2GB/sec bandwidth, more than ten times that of the SATA-II 3Gbps bus

                                  SATA-II: 3Gbps
                                  SSD: 2GBps * 8 = 16Gbps
                                  16 / 3 = 5.333
                                  5.333 < 10

No that's 5400RPM (many laptop drives, and the WD green series). The WD greens are perfect for USB enclosures since you're bottlenecked by the bus badly; and for bulk data storage because they're marginally cheaper, run cooler (less power consumption, less heat aging), and spin slower (less mechanical load on moving parts - longer life expectancy, also quieter). I wouldn't recommend one as a primary drive; but if you have an SSD for your OS/apps your mp3/mpg collection won't be affected any by being put on the green drive. Edit: actually IIRC there's a few laptop drives that are only 4200RPM.

That's similar to my home PC, I think you'll like it. Differences: CPU - my 920 is watercooled and screaming at 3.87 ghz. GPU - I have SLI 260's HD - I have a 120GB OCZ agility, and a WD 640 black. RAM - only 6GB, filling both banks hurts OC performance and DDR3 was almost $50/gig a year ago. I've yet to exceed 5GB used so I'm not too concerned here yet; and 4GB dimms currently have a 2x price penalty attached. :sigh:

Let me get the first part of that quote for you.

The PCIe x8 interface used by RAIDDrive SSDs supports 2GB/sec bandwidth, more than ten times that of the SATA-II 3Gbps bus
