I've had a few emails from my CP friends and if I have not responded, my apologies. My basic of social upkeep has been via Facebook and my blog. I am still unemployed after my third layoff in three years. CNN keeps telling me being a programmer and female makes me Affirmative Action effing GOLD but not in this part of the country. *SIGH* (Oh, and I fall under the 'two or more races' category making me even more desirable for AAI stats.) Note for my non-American friends: America has something called Affirmative Action which gives "minorities" a leg-up in certain instances. Those companies who bid on government projects have to have certain AAI (Affirmative Action Information) statistics. Being female, and part Native American makes me doubly a minority. I am considering going back to photography since where I used to live all the wedding photographers have seemed to scatter to at least 90 miles away. I've also considered applying to a restaurant as a line or sous chef since I can now ceviche a fish fillet and studied how to cook a duck confit. We finally got a new comedy club in the "major" town an hour-drive away after the last one closed almost a year ago. I feel too advanced for amateur night, and not sure where to start to drive an on-the-road show. I'm too embarrassed to ask my comic friends even though some are major players. Sometimes I feel like comedy is my true calling, and sometimes I just want to soak in new SQL keywords. My blog is not as political as it used to be, but I plan to change that. I also plan to start a new website (or blog through blogger.com) called ViolatersWillBeMocked.com because I am tired of the local police force not giving tickets to the effing idiots who block my driveway, but gave my Hubby a ticket for "failing to stop" when he has not gotten a moving violation in over 15 years. All my best to my old friends...hope things go great to possible new friends! And WTF happened to the SB 2.0?!? It's like no one but three people want to touch that shiznit!

I'll pass on a little tip - the Census Bureau is hiring a ton of temps at the moment. It's not engineering work and it doesn't pay engineering scale wages, but you know how it is - any job at all is worth a look when the wolf is at the door. The pay is better than you might expect. Here's their site - 2010 Census Jobs[^]. Click the 'contacting your local census office' link at the bottom of the page for phone numbers/addresses of local offices.

good to see you're still there friend, we miss you. I thought photography was something you considered a while back - good luck if you can do it, and Im pretty sure you'd be good at the comedy from reading your blog (havnt in a while though) I hope Kori and the 'menagerie' are well - all the best for the Xmas break/Silly Season, and hopefully a better, brighter 2010 - hang in there Garth ps .. anyone who can cook a duck confit is definately a friend of mine - I'd almost make the trek to your place with my knife and fork in hand !

It's good to hear from you Leckey. Hopefully 2010 will be your year - you deserve things to start going your way.
