may be these can fall under resolutions, I am not sure though. I think these are all your wishes. What about "resolutions" ?

I resolve to do well in my final exams for 6th form. I resolve to clear up what's going to happen in my life after they're done I resolve to do my best to get a job. I resolve to make the next year as good as this one. It's just a matter of chopping and changing the sentences to give it an active voice.

I thought when I would visit the Lounge around the 31st Dec, I would be able to see some new year resolutions being posted here. To my surprise there are none. So lets start now. What are your resolutions for this new year. I will post mine - Loose weight. Sounds funny, but its true. Software development job (sitting job without no movement / physical activities) can help you gain weight quickly ! Your thoughts are welcome !!!! [Edit] : Forgot to wish all CPians and there families a very happy and prosperous new year ! May your coding skills sharpen this year and we see a rise in world economy again.

I'll join you on this one... Loose weight and get fitter, code more, and get into electronics. I'd like to get into robotics within the next few years. :-D I'd like to try to start my own business in the new year. Not really a resolution, but it's certainly a significant change in my life... :-D

Cool, I have an advanced degree in electronics engineering. I had planed to start some robot projects. I would like to compete with Harvard on creating a colony of robotic bees. But anything would be fun. If you want a 'buddy' or another person to collaborate with I would be glad to lend a hand.

Wow, thanks dude. I have no qualifications at the moment, but once I have a bit of money (and hopefully the spare time) I'd like to get some. A colony of robotic bees would be cool. Expecially if you could get them to actually fly. Bonus points if you can get them to sting your foes... Although you risk hurting them doing that. I was thinking about remote controlled and fully automated vehicles for fun. Here's a project for you... A small car with AI to make it behave like an insect? Get a few together, and make them aware of each other... That would me great. Completely impractical, but if money was no object... :-D

Yeah this was a project by IBM and MIT. It took the power of a super computer to make them learn how to 'interact' I don't have that kind of money, but there is always the Nvidia Tesla desk top supercomputer. I do plan on getting one soon. Mobile phones make great robot brains and if they have wi-fi it makes it really fun. Have you looked at the Microsoft Robotics package? You can design the intelligence with out having the real robot. It also works with Lego Robotics if money is an option.

How would you go about implementing this? Do you have to reprogram the phone? I'm after getting the MS Robotics software as soon as I can either afford it, or get a friend to get it for me through their companies MSDN subscription.
