That only works if you write "10", which is binary for "two" if written in word form.
I believe I've yet to hear someone pronounce "10" as "two". "Binary 10", I've heard, intended to mean "two". I normally recite either a string of ones and "oh"s, or read larger numbers off in eights (where "1010" would be "one-two" or "two-one", depending on whom I was talking to).

I guess you are one of the other 8?
I'm one of the other something; we haven't figured out what, yet (more benchmarking is required).

Down-voted by someone who has never actually used binary, no doubt.

Yes, they probably don't like the fact that some of us don't live in our mother's basement and/or worship an operating system. Or maybe it's my dislike of the Java mentality that annoys them. Whichever it is, I can go home tonight content in the thought that I've P'd off some kiddies who have barely had the time to learn anything substantial about computing.

There are ten types of person in the world: them as learn from history and know binary, and them as don't.

So just "fear of upgrade"? I was just curious. W7 - at lerast for me - works right out of the box. The only trouble we had was having to update the drivers for our own hardware
Personally, I love the idea that Raymond spends his nights posting bad regexs to mailing lists under the pseudonym of Jane Smith. He'd be like a super hero, only more nerdy and less useful. [Trevel]

Every (as in *Every*) OS MS has put out has required huge numbers of fixes, within a year or so -- far more than you should expect. I can't be bothered with paying attention or giving time to it all, any more.

Yeah, but the article says that can cause crashes on some systems with 64-bit Vista.

Windows 7, in my experience, might be the best of them from exactly this point of view. It's not perfect, it's not XP, I wouldn't run it net-connected without automatic updates, I'd handle some things differently, but up to now I never thought "this feature should be fixed". just my two cents.
