I have an Acer Aspire One which I have to replace the hard drive because the current one stopped working (hard job, BTW, had to disassemble it completely  ). Now, my question is: because it doesn't have a cd drive, can I just put the drive on another laptop, install windows and put it back on the netbook? Or will I have problems with drivers, etc?

You'll have problems with drivers as well as the HAL used unpinning Windows. You'll also have problems with getting the drive to boot because when it goes back in the old system, it will no longer be the second drive in the machine, but the first. The boot information will have been written to your installation machine hard drive, not the drive your replacing. If you can get a CD/DVD drive in the Aspire, you're MUCH better off.

Another option for you: http://www.vandomburg.net/installing-windows-xp-from-usb/[^] I have used this technique several times, and it's always worked for me. However, it does require an XP CD, preferably a retail one (Dell OEM ones, for example, can cause problems).
