Ron Paul: Current Conditions, or Just a Bad Dream?
-
More Ron Paul spew of no practical solutions in today's world. I think my favorite part is at the end "Of course, it could all be a bad dream, a nightmare, and that I'm seriously mistaken, overreacting, and that my worries are unfounded. I hope so. But just in case, we ought to prepare ourselves for revolutionary changes in the not-too-distant future." When he says revolutionary changes is he speaking of spilling blood? He is apart of the government he does love so much to rant against. I guess that's as much a reason not to vote anyone in under that logic. If government is so bad and corrupt than why run for office? The idea, I would imagine, would be to improve it and could happen if the one who was running it was right and just. But how does anyone know that he or anyone else running is going to improve the government and not just make things worse and do all the things Ron Paul spouts as being wrong? The government is elected by the people in this country and whether you like it or not it does represent the people in it. If good people aren't elected it is because we the people don't elect them. Washington's corruption is our corruption by the fact that we elect them and make the choices of who runs by us not running ourselves and scolding those who do.

Dr. Ron Paul's solutions are to audit and abolish the federal reserve, stop meddling with other countries, cut government spending, and obey the constitution.

It's already audited by Congress regularly. This myth is much like the death panels myth by Sarah Palin and co.

stop meddling with other countries
I would agree with this on it's face and to the extent that we've turned into the world's police.
CaptainSeeSharp wrote:
cut government spending
Cut what portions?
CaptainSeeSharp wrote:
obey the constitution
And what is his or your interpretation of it today? Do you read it literally or in the context and time it was written? Each person seems to interpret it to their own beliefs and particular bend.

What's he doing about it? Seriously, I was all for him in the election, but since then he's not been able to so much as raise a ruckus. This is the first I have heard of him attempting to make waves and before he was at least carried on news outlets, now all he is on is this? Oh and you never stop meddling with other countries. That's called isolationism and EVERY time the US has done that it has gotten into a major war. You play the game and let people know you are there to kick the crap out of them if they mess with you, and you give them a bloody nose if they don't listen. They sponsor terrorism, you bomb their home. None of this invade the country BS, just make the specific people in charge know that being in charge means they will eventually look up and see the words "So long dumbass, wave for the camera." on a smart bomb.

The GAO via the Comptroller General does according to the Federal Banking Agency Audit Act of 1978.

They don't do real audits.

What's a real audit mean? If they want more information about what the federal reserve does then by all means go ahead. Sounds good to me, but saying no audit happens is disingenuous and lacking in actual details as to what the kind of auditing information is being sought.

No I don't. 1801 THomas Jefferson in inaugural speech "peace, commerce, and honest friendship with all nations, entangling alliances with none." 1812 we were fighting Britain. Woodrow Wilson ran on a platform of "He kept us out of war" We jumped into WW1 with him as well. US goes back to it after WW1. It goes into full isolation mode during the Great Depression. Guess what happens 20 years later... I think you got that wrong buddy.

Oh yea, great point. Too bad I keep bring up actual, you know, facts. Stuff that can be verified. But hey, all you have to do is say something and it is right, because arguing with you is like arguing with god.

I've read that before, it sure doesn't have much by means of a bill. It does almost nothing. I would expect more. I don't see why Congress can't subpoena the comptroller before the house finances committee, etc. Smells like grand standing to me. If Ron Paul really wants to do something like this he'd better put some teeth in it and not float this thing.

That's your brilliant rebuttal? NYAH NYAH?! I post actual examples and you don't even bother to quote or discuss them? wait, where is that bot program, I need to update it.

wow, when someone points out you don't back anything up with facts you result to mom insults. That bot program may really be true...
