Hi guys! Since another one of our customers is having troubles because of a WMI error I was wondering how frequently WMI acutally breaks. Right now I've got a feeling that on about 5% of all windows computers WMI is f***ed up. If you want to participate in this poll, please run "wmimgmt.msc" from a commandline and select "Properties" for your local WMI control from the context menu. If everything is fine you'll see some information about your computer (CPU, OS, ...). In this case please vote 5 for this posting. If your WMI is broken, you'll get a message telling you that no connection could be established to your WMI service. In this case please vote 1 for this posting. That way we can get a rough estimate on how frequently WMI really breaks. Thanks for your time! :rose:

No luck here... "MMC has detected an error in a snap-in. It is recommended that you shut down and restart MMC". I tell it to continue, and it comes up blank. Of course, it could be because I'm not a local admin. EDIT: Ok, I'm an idiot... It wasn't coming up blank... It did give that error, but still showed the little "WMI Control (Local)" on the left and gave me properties.

:) I don't have a problem with WMI either, but our customer support guys keep calling me with WMI problems on the customers' computers. :doh:

You know that votes are weighted by level? But it's OK, gold member machines are more important anyway.
Personally, I love the idea that Raymond spends his nights posting bad regexs to mailing lists under the pseudonym of Jane Smith. He'd be like a super hero, only more nerdy and less useful. [Trevel]
