    It does that to me as well. For example, I have EBay set to go into it's own folder, but every now and then it ends up in spam instead - normally when I realy need to know I've got it... If you find a solution elsewhere, please post it here! [edit]Icon changed - sorry about that.[/edit]

    Nah... What's up, Doc? CCC's solved : 1 If a bus station is where a bus stops, and a train station is where a train stops, why do I have a work station on my desk?

      Background 1. My team is spread across 3 continents; "SA Dev India" is the India mailing list, "SA Dev London" is the London mailing list, "SA Dev New York" is the US mailing list, and "SA Dev" is the combined mailing list + management. 2. "SA Support" is the support list, which is a subset of "SA Dev London". 3. For various reasons, my name shouldn't be in "SA Support" but I would like to be notified of support emails. 4. The "SA Support" list usually receives several hundred emails a day, and it's safe for me to delete them without reading. However, I am interested in the occassional email out of my own volition. Current solution 1. I got Andrea, who is part of "SA Support" to create a rule in her Outlook to forward me all emails that are sent to "SA Support". 2. I have a rule in my Outlook that moves messages from Andrea with the words "Auto forwarded by a rule" to a separate folder. Problem 1. Andrea sent me an email that had been auto forwarded somewhere up the line, and it went to my Support folder and I nearly missed it. Question 1. Is there anything Andrea or I can do to our Outlook rules to prevent this from happening again? I've thought and thought, but the cleanest solution seems to be getting myself added to the group (violates rule #3). Can Andrea add some sort of flag (GUID?) using an Outlook rule to the emails she forwards me?

      Surely there is something in a support email unique, isn't the original support address in the body of the forwarded email, that should at least nail down the type. Aren't there categories as well maybe they will help.

          Sorry, I don't understand... yes, support emails are addressed to "SA Support", which is what Andrea uses to forward them to me using her Outlook rule. If user1 sends an email to user2, which gets autoforwarded to SA Support, and Andrea forwards manually to me because she knows only I can solve it, it would still get caught by my rule and get whisked away from my inbox. (Something like this happened last week.) This is a tough one. :suss: If I don't get a solution in a day or two, I am going to get myself added to the SA Support list.

            When Andrea forwards an email with her rule, have the rule lower the priority of the email. Update your rule to move mails with the words "Auto forwarded by a rule" _and_ with lower priority to your support folder. In this case, Andrea's emails with normal priority won't get be moved by your rule. (On a side note, what an outlook spaghetti ! ;P )

              That is a very nice idea, only, how does she lower the priority while forwarding? There's an option to forward, and an option to lower the priority, but the latter is for her own mailbox.

                :( OK, I thought it would modify the message before forwarding it. Is there a way to sort the actions (not that you forward and then lower the priority, instead of the contrary) ? But you got the idea, you need to mark the support emails differently, and this must happen in Andrea's rule.

                  Can't you figure out a another rule to apply before that one ("with my name in the to list", or some-such), which will put it where you want it before the group rule sees it?

                    Any solution eventually ? What you could try is put an alias of your name in the support list. I think this may be possible ( we have aliases for booking rooms which in fact redirect to the secretaries responsible for the rooms), and if the alias is well chosen, it should not drive too much attention.

                      Naah, got home (almost bedtime) and tomorrow's a holiday, so I'll try something on Wed and let you know if it works out. Like I said, if all else fails, I'll get my name added to the Support list.
