This Wall Street Journal article[^] compares Jay Leno to Hitler. That might be stretching things a bit.

I dunno, Hitler had a big fan base and a love of cars.

It took the writer about 5 sentences to get to 1 on that statistic. Come on... late night comedy guy to genocide guy. Must have been thinking about other things that really had his blood boiling.

Yea, problem was when he bombed, it was bad. But when he was on a roll, he really slayed the audience.

No. That's just it, I don't get how Hitler can come up in a conversation about Leno. A bit of a stretch indeed.

Did you miss this bit at the bottom of the article (emphasis mine): Mr. Queenan, a satirist, is the author, most recently, of the memoir "Closing Time" (Viking, 2009). You might want to look up the meaning of the bolded word.

right satire.... what is this strange new concept you speak of.... If I called your mom a cock-sucking whore. Then proclaimed myself a satirist you would take no offense right? Lighten up it was all in good fun... ;P
