Yeah, spotted that one in the local news yesterday. This, combined with all of those fun articles we keep seeing from the UK, shows that no matter what country you live in... You just can't escape stupidity.

Proud to have finally moved to the A-Ark. Which one are you in? Author of Guardians of Xen (Sci-Fi/Fantasy novel)

That fact that it got beyond "don't bring toys to school" (even though the kid was playing during his lunch time) is 'f***in ret***ed' as Rahm would say.

Ever watch or listen to Love Line? "Germany or Florida" They put a news headline from one of the two and you have to guess which. The only defining thing about it is the fact that regardless of which it is, it is usually so freaking weird you have to wonder if everyone in the place is completely bonkers. This one would fit right in.

I'll probably get flamed for this, but US's laws about guns are not really that strict, correct? So at age 8 he can't have 1 inch toy gun, yet at 16 (could be wrong about the age) he may own a real gun? that's a little hypocritical no?

There are three political forces on the subject in America, those who think no one should have guns, those who think everyone should have guns, and the sane people. Being that it's America, no one listens to the sane people. You can probably find a school with gun racks mounted on the trucks out there still, just at matter of which of the two major political forces is in control.

"The principal made an error in judgment by overreacting when the toy was found," acknowledged Education Department spokesman Matthew Mittenthal.

Overreacting? No, this is a little beyond overreacting... That would imply that a Lego "gun" was even worth REACTING to, which it isn't. When some idiot brought the kid to the principal's office over a two-inch piece of plastic, the principal should have just laughed in that person's face.

                    The hell you say.

Did you catch the part where the kids were all playing with legos and the other kids that had barbarians and knights with toy axes, swords and such were not brought in, but the kid playing with the policeman toy was? I do so like that society wants you to listen to and repsect the police, but here the kid is told that cops are bad and invading Norse are fine.
