What I'm interested in is micro/mini nozzles for sending out water based paint in tiny streams, around 0.1mm diameter perhaps, or a feathered 0.5 mm thrown perhaps 5 to 10mm ? I don't have any concrete plans yet, but I'm just wondering if anyone has some knowledge of what is out there. I've done the usual searching, and the most interesting one I've found is micro dispensing nozzles, and they don't talk of spraying things. Actually, if all anyone knows about is the correct terminology to use when discussing these types of things, that would be super duper useful. - Phil

You're probably looking for an atomizer[^]. There are atomizers of all sorts, varying in quantity, spray mist size, etc., I use some of those to decant cologne into for carrying while travelling. Bigger ones could be used in the garden to atomize bug spray, or on the windows or furniture to atomize cleaning solution, etc,.

my local pub has water sprays, for cooling, that are so fine the spray looks dry, like smoke, and it evaporates before condensing on any surface. I'll ask what they use.

I don't know what you want it for, but how about this? http://tinyurl.com/ykgtxw3[^] I used it once to coat a sample plate for scientific analysis with specimen as a very thin and even coat.

Get some brass jets from carburettors. The transfer jets are smal, the mains are bigger, but are designed to give a good spray pattern. You can also buy very small dril bits if you want to make a custom size.

Have you thought of using inkjet printer print heads?
