Not the UK too...

"I am quite new and thick to this " He could be in the UK ( using the word 'thick' makes me think he might be ), but maybe not. Either way, stupidity is not racial, obviously. There's an environment in places like India that is created by the West, and which encourages the existance of 'post codez' type 'development', but there's more than enough Indian CPians who are excellent programmers, so there's no reason to think there would not be morons everywhere. I know you know all this, I am providing a caveat for my final statement, which is, that I notice an increasing number of obvious non English speakers who join up and claim to be from the UK or the USA.

It didn't seem that bad a question to me, if perhaps worded by someone trying desperately hard not to revert to Newspeak (or Txtspeak or whatever idiotic youths addicted to their mobile phones call it). When I first started looking at patterns I found the subject almost entirely incomprehensible, what with all the UML diagrams and jargon associated with them. Then I read an article (I can't remember by whom or where - except it was definitely a print journal, so possibly Dr. Dobbs) which gave one of the clearest explanations I've ever read of anything and suddenly the whole subject area was revealed. Also, at least he admitted to being thick :)
