Any forum that has standards, does not have a 'right to post'. You will be shouted down if you post about anything bar C# in the C# forum. If you do it more than once, you'll get moderated away. If you post offensive stuff in the lounge, it will end up in the Soapbox 2.0. This forum is the bottom of the pile, the place where the rules are laxest, and therefore, there's no-where to go from here. This part of the site has standards, and they are simple. You need to post here only if you are willing to discuss what you have to say, and if you are presenting your own opinions and not just spamming text from existing sites. If I want to read Ron Paul, I'll read his site. If someone is truly his follower, then surely they understand his political views enough to be able to reword and explain them.

Personally, I don't care how many times he makes his 'Ron Paul' post, I read it the first time, I now ignore it, and enjoy reading the comments it generates. I find Gillian and Captain SeeVee amusing. I would be sorry to see either moderated away. But you are the moderator, so what you say goes.

Well, no. My desire is not to moderate anyone 'away', but to prompt them to contribute to this forum, rather than just dumping copy/paste text here and abusing anyone who tries to discuss it. And, more to the point, the role of moderator doesn't mean I get to decide what is acceptable, it means I'm supposed to reflect the values of the community. It's my opinion that the community wants people to contribute to this forum and not just use it as a dumping ground for other people's opinions, am I wrong ?
