How is programming the Mac against programming the NeXT boxes? Has App Builder gotten better? How has the experience changed? (I guess this is a programming question, but I couldn't find the NeXT forum)

This seems more like a programmer question than a programming question. ;)

I did a little bit of programming with it. At the time it was pretty cool, especially considering it's Unixy heritage. XCode is dramatically different than ProjectBuilder was, for the most part it's improved. InterfaceBuilder (what I think you're calling AppBuilder) is also better, though you'll probably recognize more there, they have kept that closer to the original. The basic core elements are all still there, First Responder, objects, drag and drop connector, etc. The framework is a little more sophisticated, but again all the basic ideas are still there. All in all, I'd say it's positive growth.

If I didn't have to buy a mac to try it, I would. I'm not against Macs, my first 'real' computers at work were Lisas (some of my best friends are...), and I did some hypercard programming and simulation and modeling on macs back in the mid to late 80s I have a lot of personal money invested in PC h/w and s/w. Not to mention years of life/career time.
