... are targetting the CodeProject community. "How can I get a DNA test?" :wtf:

The bearing of a child takes nine months, no matter how many women are assigned.

They are actually dyslexic. They are asking for an AND test.

Hey Pete, Well, they is actually me. Modern Father is a pet project of mine that's coming up on its second year. Graciously Chris, Jeff and the rest of our team here at Code Project were kind enough to let me introduce the effort to the Code Project community through some advertising. I actually think the demographic make up as well as the intellectual and fact-oriented nature of of the Code Project audience makes this an absolutely perfect place to get the word out. At least I hope I'm right. Before pounding me on the head too soundly ;) please understand what our objectives are: First and foremost, to provide separated and divorced fathers a reliable place to ask questions and get answers from sensible people who think before they speak. If you have ever gone through a divorce you know the pain and anxiety that it involves and the absolutely unsettling fear you have of becoming a bit player in the lives of your children. When I went through this myself in 2004/2005 I was absolutely and totally shocked to learn how fathers are treated and regarded by the law. Absolutely blown away by the total lack of regard the law has for a father's role in the family. And the consideration that their involvement is, well, optional. Secondly, to educate the broader community of men about what's going on and to try and find ways to change the way the courts work with regard to fathers and family law. Lastly, to find, organize and/or create research about the status of fatherhood, the law's recognition of fatherhood, and true and unbiased scientific and statistical data supporting the cause. While I'd love your support and consideration I understand it may not be for you, but please give me the opportunity to get the message out to the masses of men struggling through separation and divorce while trying to stay connected to their children. Thanks, David http://www.modernfather.com/about-us.shtml[^] http://ca.linkedin.com/in/davidcunningham[^]

David, I'm not a father myself, but I see that the tech community has grown up, and many are. Add to that the current state of affairs - a friend working as a teacher last year had 5 "divorcing kids" in a class of 28 lat year - I am 100% sure you have a point. Go on!

            Agh! Reality! My Archnemesis![^]

Thanks for the kind words. For something that affects so many families, I have been astounded at the lack of quality information and the overwhelming prevalence of misguided stereotypes. I hope with this we can help make the situation a little better for Fathers whose marriages don't work out. The ultimate goal of our effort is to install what's called "rebuttable presumption of equal shared parenting." The idea being that the court would assume both parents are equal, and should spend equal time with the kids, unless there is some reason that's not a good idea like mental illness, disability, extreme work commitments, etc. I truly believe that if this was enacted (and many jurisdictions are on the cusp of doing in, Australia and Tennessee for example) it would take a lot of the aggressiveness and anger out of divorce. Right now, the "winner" gets the house, the kids and most of the money and so they fight tooth and nail for it. The "Loser" becomes a bit player in their kids lives and is rather traumatically forced to go out, broke, and start a new life from scratch. If you know any separated fathers, please send them an email and introduce them to the site! http://answers.modernfather.com/[^] http://blog.modernfather.com/[^]
