Is there a way to browse the VS2010 documentation in MS Document Explorer as in VS 2008 instead of a web browser? I have downloaded the help for offline use but still I can only browse it in web browser, which is way worse than what I was used to in VS2008 (index search missing, insufficient tree view etc.). Thanks.

No, the MS Document Explorer from VS2008 is not part of VS2010 and the help format is incompatible. There is a VS2010 extension[^] which adds an index search in to the IDE. You can also install the H3Viewer[^], which will give you an experience similar to Document Explorer.
