This morning I took a look at my website's users table and found that the last 30 or so registrations were obviously generated by bots. I found registration attempts with usernames like Gladiator, Warlock and Spirit Master. The e-mail addresses used also showed up on spam lists. It's amazing the lengths spammers will go to to post their content all over the internet...

You're right there. Luckily the bots haven't so far been able to activate the accounts, which requires clicking on a link within a registration e-mail that I send out. And the inactive accounts will eventually be purged by my housekeeping service, but, yes, implementing some kind of captcha validation is probably best. I'll get back to Visual Studio...
