Every time I login to yahoo (less than 1 time per month) and the chat window pops up I have dozens of messages and confirmations about people who want to add me to their address book or want to send me a chat message... Is there some yahoo chat scam? I have not used chat or IM in over 7 years.

Sounds like that is what is happening.. I closed the window. But now I just logged back in an Collen, Ruth and Alicia all want to contact me.. Colleen manin: Hi! Please add me to your Yahoo! Messenger contact list so we can chat. Thanks!

just keep hitting no, spam, ignore. They'll go away. I think it's done with bots.

There are some settings that allow you to block unknown people from contacting you in Skype. Not sure if yahoo has the same settings.
