Is that they don't state the final purpose of the enquiry. There was a rambling Discussion here[^] which illustrates this perfectly. Enquirers don't state their requirements. Instead they focus on some technology which they think is the solution, without every saying what they want to use it for. This leads to discussion and whining, where the experts say: it won't work, and the enquirer whines: it HAS to work, plzzzz. Turns out that this guy who wanted MAC addresses of clients (which generated a lot of back and forth discussion, short of quoting verbatim RFC's), just wanted to know if a user was sitting on the same machine as he had before. :-\ Something for the FAQ? Required reading when joining?

The problem is that nobody reads the FAQ, or posting guidelines, or any other form of help that CP provides.

Well, this guy is already an advanced enquirer. He actually had a question! More often than not people just copy and paste a homework assignment (that doesn't contain any questions) or complete gibberish.
