If that is true, IMHO, it is a nice step. If the prisoners are ready to change the way they had lived which caused them ending up in prison, it is great.
So we're going to find out whether or not they are reformed by giving them access to my bank details? On second thoughts, by the time this project comes to fruition the UK will be providing call centres to India at a fraction of the price that the prisons can achieve.

They will be doing back office jobs. They won't have any bank details. So that worry is out of the window. I have worked for US based banks and I don't know anything about the actual data. Apart from that, this is not going to happen nation wide. This cannot. It will be confined to a very limited area.
