It max value for a WORD data type (16 bits). Are you a VB programmer? ( Am I right Christian ? ;) ) Junkie "* Code till death *"
No, Christian is an old programmer. The number represents the maximum memory addressable by an Intel 8080. About the 16 bits, or super being a VB programmer ? Yes, 65536 is the maximum for a 16 bit number 2 4 8 16 32 64 128 256 - one byte 512 1024 2048 4096 8192 16384 32768 65535 - two bytes No, I can't go any higher than that off the top of my head, at 128k I need to work it out myself. Christian No offense, but I don't really want to encourage the creation of another VB developer. - Larry Antram 22 Oct 2002 Hey, at least Logo had, at it's inception, a mechanical turtle. VB has always lacked even that... - Shog9 04-09-2002 During last 10 years, with invention of VB and similar programming environments, every ill-educated moron became able to develop software. - Alex E. - 12-Sept-2002

I am sure here that CodeProject servers doesn't run on old 8080 machines. J "* Code till death *"
Do you have any idea what you can do with a 65535-way 8080 cluster? It's one of the best kept secrets at Intel! I thought that was 640k, therefore 655350 ? It's time to move on, let the dead bury their own dead, and get on with it. If I'm willing to give up CP/M, Intel should be willing to quit supporting A20!:) "Another day done; all targets met; all systems fully operational; all customers satisfied; all staff keen and well motivated; all pigs fed and ready to fly." - Jennie Agard, McGuckin Hardware Systems Manager
