QANTAS wrote back and will pay for the repair to my guitar. Sadly, I am in Sydney on my way to the US again, so I will have to wait over two weeks before I am there to take it in.

Run! Run for the hills! Carry all the food, water, and ammo you can handle! Christian found something that doesn't suck! (nice to hear about the guitar)

You will find the offer has an expiry date of 14 days and on your flight back from the US, QANTAS will delay you for 24 hours, you will miss the expiry date. You will then have to deal with the bureaucracy again to get window extended! I seriously hope they just fix the bloody thing to your satisfaction.

I wrote to forewarn them of the delay in my next response, and wrote to the guitar guy to 'book in'. No matter what, I'd prefer to have kept the original finish, but they've done all they can, so I accept that's the best I could hope for, now. The next guitar I bring back, I will wrap in garbage bags to protect it.

Wow, there must be a Page's fan at QANTAS. :)
