When using right-click customize notification icons, does anyone know how to make the settings persist? Or anything that could cause them not to? I keep setting Trillian (the IM program I use instead of WLM) to "Show icon and notifications" and network to "Hide icon and notifications" but around every other day when I start up my computer they've swapped back and I have to set them again.

    1. Right click on the taskbar, click properties. 2. Click "Customize" button under the notification area group box. 3. Select "Always show all icons and notifications on the taskbar" (or choose individual options appropriately on the same page).

    Workout progress:
    Current arm size: 14.4in
    Desired arm size: 18in
Next Target: 15.4in by Dec 2010

    Current training method: HIT

Yes, I've done that but a few days later it loses the settings and I have to do it again.

Are you using professional version or below? If so, this is by design. The ultimate version (usually) remembers the setting.

        Workout progress:

        Desired arm size: 18in
Next Target: 15.4in by Dec 2010

I would imagine that the program is creating the icon in the notification area (please, not the "systray" :)) using different parameters, and so as fas as the operating system is concerned, it's a different icon.

Possibly, it only ever shows up once in the customize dialog though, and has the same tooltip text "Trillian - Online" usually. And it's weird that Network has the opposite problem, keeps deciding to re-show itself every few days when I've selected to hide it. I've pretty much consigned myself to reapplying the settings manually every few days when they are lost as I've a feeling I'm never going to get to the bottom of why it's going on, just thought I'd post to see if anyone else had encountered anything similar, or knew of any other details such as where the settings are stored so I could monitor access to the file/reg keys etc.
