I received my edition of "Pro C#2010 and the .NET 4 Platform" couple of days back, considering my previous experience with books I am nowhere in mood to read this 1700+ pages mammoth book end to end. Can someone here please share your experience to upgrade on C#2010, .NET4 and VS2010 in an easier way. I would love to have some ideas on a dummy project covering the very best and NEW features of the trio combo mentioned above. Eager to have some hands on the latest MS offerings.

Why would read the whole bloody book? Just pick a chapter and dig in! It's going to be a far better learning experience than the summary of someone elses experience and you'll actually learn something in the process. Doing it yourself is far better than someone telling you they did it.

Work through this - C# FAQ[^]. For .NET and C# language the main themes this time around are parallel programming and interoperability with COM-based and dynamic languages.

I have 3 different editions of that book, and can safely say it is about the best reference book going. Don;t read it cover to cover but keep it on your desk for when you need some reference.
