Nightfall? What is that?

Posting this from Oslo international airport after a couple of weeks in Norway. Beautiful country - lots of green, undulating terrain, and of course, lovely fjords. Very expensive though by Indian standards - a decent dinner costs 150 - 200 NOK (approx Rs. 1000 - Rs. 1400). And yeah, the sun is still shining low in the horizon as I type (11 PM local time) :).

You lucky bugger. We keep planning to go to Norway just to take the kids to a certain set of cliffs so they can sit and watch as the sun doesn't go down (it's a bit of an in joke in our family).

Similar to most parts of the US then. Most entry-level restaurants would cost approx USD 25 per person for dinner (and that's assuming you just drink water or soda). Add a few beers or scotches, and it goes up higher. Are you on a pleasure trip? Or is this work related?

You must have been in a cheap part of NO then! Even outside the capital, that just about gets you a cheap dinner, like pizza. A "proper" meal is well up from that. I was there last weekend, and we went out a nice meal - that was more like 800kr (80usd-ish) per head. Twas nice though! Oslo is still well south of the polar circle. Try midsummer in Kiruna area. It's like being jetlagged. Your body is telling you it should be in bed - your eyes are telling you it looks like 4pm. Glad you enjoyed my neighbour, Iain.

Senthil is vegetarian (if I remember right) and also does not drink (alcohol). So his meals would be a fair bit cheaper than what it'd cost a drinking meat eater (like me, or say you for instance).

I think it's time you changed your CP handle to "DrinkingMeatEater". Add "swearing, gun-toting, womanizer" to garner several hundred more man points. :-D /ravi
