I used keep my mobile on my sight so they I reply to the SMS immediately. Most of the times I check my mobile with no incoming message.

If you turn your mobile to a setting which makes a noise or vibrates you don't need to keep checking it all the time.

At work, we should have the mobile in silent only. But I used to keep it in Vibrate. But its a feeling that drives me check the mobile always (may be I don't trust the notication of the phone).

I leave it in the car. At work, I'm working, not dealing with my personal life.

I'd never do that - my boss might pick up my mobile number from the call logs. It is such hassle changing the number, I'd rather he didn't get it in the first place!

Did you know: That by counting the rings on a tree trunk, you can tell how many other trees it has slept with.

I only check my phone when it rings...

I never check it; it just rings. Mine has two lines - one for my use, the other for work. I pay the bill for my line and the company pays the bill for the work number. Since cell phones are the normal communication device for the company, we always have them set to ring, and nobody cares much if I take (or make) a personal call once in a while. Texting is acceptable for "some" of us, but it's discouraged for others. While it's useful for management, the people in the field are expected to do the tasks they're assigned without distractions. It isn't banned for anyone, however, and nobody minds the occasional text from a girlfriend or wife while working. In fact, since we use the phones for everything, and there are times when only text messages get through, it's handy to have for those of us who run things. The boss likes to know when the power goes out, even though phone service is also on the blink.
