My mother just phoned me up because she was booking a holiday and needed to print out some stuff. "It is telling me to print it, but there are two buttons, PDF Print and Hotmail Print" I knew immediately what she meant, but said "What do you mean Hotmail Print?". "That's what it says" she said. < Pantomime Mode >"Oh No It Isn't"< /Pantomime Mode> Said I. Cutting a long story short, I told her to hit the PDF Print and that 'Hotmail' was actually HTML, and not to push strange buttons. What is worse is, this is the second problem today with her and computers and holidays, the earlier one was that she paid twice! (She managed to sort this on the phone after I said it wouldn;t be a problem, just call them as this sort of thing happens all the time and they probably have payment filters to stop two payments on the same reference). Still, she is 61! (Or a Young Filly as Henry would call her :) )

My mother is 50, and I've got her well trained in computers, she even uses Firefox!

I will sum it up. She uses them all the time, but mainly for Spider Solitaire. Her Home page is Yahoo. She has a Yahoo Email Addy. She is on the Ultimate Time Suck Site, Facebook. Her Favourites pages are all holiday and shopping sites. I often castigate her for leaving piles of ironing on the printer. Still, she is my old mum and I love her, but I wish she wouldn't annoy me so much at a technical level!

Really? Over 50? Wow: ancient: surprised she even knows what a compooter is. My father-outlaw is over 80 and is a whizz on the old pc - age isn't the barrier, it's attitude.

I've got a great aunt who's about that old and's been on the net for about a decade now. (Easiest way to get pictures of the great/grandkids after they moved away from home.)

Whew, I was getting a bit worried reading this thread. Seneca couldn't have said it better.

It’s not because things are difficult that we do not dare, it’s because we do not dare that things are difficult. ~Seneca
