Just got back from 3 weeks in France. Beautiful country and great food but the amount of smoking they do compared to the US is a bit hard to tolerate. What did I miss?

A guy walked into a bar with two other stereotypes. The first two men said something along the lines of what you'd expect, the third retorted with something that was likely politically incorrect but made us all laugh. Three people reposted the joke and were downvoted.

Apart from the laughing part, that pretty much sums up the last 3 weeks here. :^)

Christian got something to work but it broke later. JSOP has depleted the worlds' supply of lead and black powder quite considerably. hammerstein05 also went on holiday. I'm surprised you didn't meet him. That's it. Nothing else at all has happened. Not a single thing. Nothing

Hamsters went on strike for a few hours one day.... They were whipped back into line. three members had heart attacks, one a panic attack and had to breath through a paper bag. The others made pokes at the hamsters in the back room.... When will they learn?

Maybe I should rephrase that to "the amount of smoking one is exposed to in public places".

The US Surgeon General recanted claims that tobacco smoke is harmful, and encouraged states to nullify antismoking laws as soon as cigarette manufacturers change the glue they use to hold the papers together. That turned out to be the real culprit, amplified by the fact, recently discovered, that if one pokes a rat in the ass 30 times a day with any needle, it will get cancer just to make the researches happy and encourage them to go away.

I worked for a French company for 9 years and although the buildings were non-smoking, the managers all congregated just out side the back door to make any real decisions. I smoked a pipe back then, so when I was at the home office I'd join them. It was interesting to say the least!
