is dead[^]. I have a version running on a VM and used to enjoy it. Any Open Solaris users here? Sun Virtual Box is also affected. Oracle made two versions of it, commercial and open source. Looks like their next step will be to stop the open source edition. :( I am wondering, does it really make sense to contribute to an open source project which is managed by big companies?

Probably not: all you are doing is helping their bottom line by providing free time to a project that they will find a way to make money from, if they can else they wouldn't be in business in the first place.

Only if that is their only or primary business - otherwise they have no incentive to look after you (or the project).

I've never actually managed to use it despite several attempts to do so. VirtualBox (when I used to use it before it's networking drivers totally screwed my Windows host) refused to boot it:thumbsdown: I think Solaris 10 is still free though, just not open source :)
