http://www.broadcastingcable.com/article/456321-G4_Announces_New_Series_Bomb_Patrol_Afghanistan_.php[^] The Navy approved this apparently. What happens when someone gets killed? Are they going to film that as an episode. I've seen advertisements for it and they seem to be ginning up the possibility of just that. This is really low. I feel bad for the soldiers in this. G4 used to be TechTV.

Reminds me of the movie Running Man.

I don't think it's low; in fact, with this reality coming to the television, maybe more people will understand we have to get the hell out of there. Please don't confuse my position of wanting to pull troops out with not supporting them. I support them totally. I don't support the management.

They hype just about every reality show the same way, hell, if they hyped the Jersey shore with the possibility one of them may die on the show they may well break broadcast ratings records. As a show, it sounds interesting, seeing how they deal with IEDs and such. Though the commercials sound like they're just exploiting that odd human fascination with watching others die from as far away as possible.

ABC did this earlier in the war when there was support. I think the show was called Stories from the Frontline. We already have a date to pull out. It's not going to hasten it any. This isn't going to change anything. It's not a news show it's an entertainment show. I don't find anything entertaining about the potential for real human life, namely our soldiers, being blown up.

There was a documentary on last night about how US soldiers have been treated by the Army - put back into the field with severe PTSD and up to six or more (six in the case of two guys intreviews) drugs for lack of sleep, fits of angerm suicicdal tendencies etc. For every symptom give out a different pill and put them back into the front line. Then when they came back some were discharged without support or treatment. The MoD in the UK isn't much better. B&£$%^&ds!

Thats' right, never do anything where you might make a difference, sit in a corner blaming everyone else. I have stopped pitying you now but you aren't worth it. I have written to me MP about one or two things and had considered repsonsese from the department invovled, not just form letters either.

I'd give them the ability to blame the recruiters, but frankly having spent a good deal of my time explaining to a few people just what they would get out of military service, I have trouble seeing why someone would do it if they have another option. But that's pretty much it, a lot of people don't. So they go in, get screwed, get discharged, continue to get screwed. Personally I'm not up for leasing my life to the government, particularly when their option to buy is so cheap. If the country is ever actually attacked, call me, till then I don't need to go tromping around some sandbox that's supposed to have some really awesome cake or whatever.

You can't blame the government for harming the troops, its the troops fault.

HEY! Is it the troops own fault and they shouldn't be blaming the government for their problems, or is it the government's fault and the troops should be blaming the government? If you answer, yes, its the governments' fault then you are an big inconsistent thing, like your belly and thighs.

I've heard of that before. The fact that the National Guard and Reserve have been used so thoroughly in this war we don't have enough equipment now back here in the states for them either. When I was looking to pay for college I considered Air Force, but couldn't because of how the country treats its soldiers. It is the most thankless job. They get used for purely political ends these days that has nothing to do with our national security. Most of the time I don't think we deserve our military's sacrifice.
