They are not just small, did you even look at them? And yes those you linked too are weird as well, but I thought 4 examples would do.

Weird or not, I'd sell my first-born son* for an Aptera... * I have no children, and no intention of having any... So could I just get an Aptera for free?

Proud to have finally moved to the A-Ark. Which one are you in?

Congratulations, on the most irrelevant post in the thread so far.

The Japanese know how to make better cars. American cars are overpriced rustbuckets made by union obamanoid thugs.

May want to check up on that, my Scion was made here in the US. Pretty nice little car too. The people responsible for the American cars being crap are most likely not members of a union. I haven't heard of to many white collar automotive designer unions.

While the comment was directed at CSS, unfortunately a resident of the land of the free and the home of the brave, you're free to buy what you want. How many domestic choices to you Brits have left?

Just look at this[^] This just screams "yes we made it electric.. but to really show that it is different, we also made it weird" - and it pisses me off. This kind of nonsense happens all the time. Compressed-air car is weird[^] Electric cars are weird Etc. This is not "functional" weirdness. This is a quite normal electric car.[^] I also think I know enough about airplanes (I can fly the small ones) that I can say that they could just have made it look normal.

Oddly enough Nissan, Honda and others are made in the UK - it looks like Saab are next! In part because we have one of the best car parts manufacturing industries in Europe. For all the politicians putting manufacturing down we're doing better.

Tim, you know you're messing up when people attack your response to CSS. If the US builds crappy stuff for a high price, I will not buy it. If they build as-good or better quality for the same or less price, I will. I consider it an attack on our economy to subsidize crap.

We came down to Earth with a thump about 20 years ago and it's taken a long time for these things to take hold. People still moan about the old industries such as ship building going and ignore the new ones.

Is this the sound of sour grapes? People have worked damned hard - manangment, workers, local government and local parts manufacturers to win business over other countries so congratulations to them. For example, there are one or two specialsit manufacturers who are moving from other European countries to the UK because there is such a good environment to work with. In the car/vehicle industry paradoxiacally not having to transport parts long distances affects costs and efficicency.
