      Article:

A booby-trapped e-mail that promises free sex movies is racking up victims around the world, warn security firms.

      Article:

Those clicking on the link get neither movies nor documents but give the malware access to their entire Outlook address book.

      Article:

Nasa, AIG, Disney, Procter & Gamble and Wells Fargo were all reported as struggling to contain an outbreak of the worm.

Happiest place on Earth indeed. :~

How many times do people have to be told to NOT open an attachment in an email?

.45 ACP - because shooting twice is just silly

One thing I sometimes wonder is that the bad link leads to a web site which can be traced to the server and site owner. But no action is immeidately done to disable the site. What is the difficulty here?

Although not widespread, reports suggest that some corporations were hit hard by it. Nasa ... were all reported as struggling to contain an outbreak of the worm. I guess even NASA engineers need to get their rocket off occasionally. Marc

The article mentioned that the spread was mainly in Russia. Russian ISPs are not known for cooperating when it comes to taking down sites. Some might say that they are business partners with the criminals spammers.

It is not exactly rocket surgery (my apologies to Steve Krug) to avoid clicking links on unsolicited email.
